ECHO.1 wins Gold at 2025 Australian Good Design Awards

ECHO.1 was honoured to have been recognised as a Gold Winner at the 2025 Australian Good Design Awards, announced in October 2025. The Awards are highly competitive and recognise design excellence from around the world, across 13 disciplines, spanning the built environment, product design, engineering, digital, social impact, policy design and more.

The jury comments were as follows:

Echo forges a path for Passivhaus in build to sell Class 2 buildings, with innovative technical solutions without foregoing a design-led outcome. Hopefully some of the innovations will be adopted in the industry, even if it is only at the luxury end to begin with. In a time of high cost of building and housing affordability, this is a very good example of affordably, increasing density whilst maintaining enriching spaces and places. The Jury appreciates the effort made to nullify the increased density on the streetscape, making this a solution worthy of broader consideration. The teams should be applauded for their approach to sustainability. A standout example of design excellence. Truly

well done!”

With a proud heritage dating back to 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards remain the nation’s oldest and most prestigious international design accolade, continuing to champion the critical role of design in shaping a brighter, fairer, and more sustainable future.
