Sustainability Policy

MISSION:

Our objective is to deliver high-performance buildings that foster excellent health and comfort outcomes, enriching the lives of the occupants and the communities they serve.

Building operations are 30% of global energy consumption and 26% of global energy related emissions  and urgent action is needed to improve the standards of any new structures being constructed.

High-performance buildings are designed using the best applied building physics methods and technologies, best embodied by the Passivhaus standard and principles. These buildings are natural candidates for Net-Zero and Zero Energy Buildings, and are a vital component in our response to the climate emergency.

GUIDELINES:

Our guidelines are as follows:

  1. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to achieve consistent quality, minimal waste, and reductions in cost to enable widespread adoption of C. Street’s high-performance building approach.
  2. Emphasize continual improvement in methods and processes to increase efficiency and lower resource consumption.
  3. Engage in research, testing and experimentation to apply best practices and materials from around the world in our projects that improve building performance.
  4. Making decisions based on data and the scientific method.
  5. Seek to integrate products that are natural, recyclable, carbon-negative and no/low-VOC into the envelope and finishes of our projects without sacrificing overall performance and robustness.
  6. Seeking partnerships that align with our values and commitment towards practical action.
  7. Conduct all business activities with consideration of the environmental and human health impact, with mitigation strategies as practical.
  8. Integrate our approach with a culture of enjoyment and curiosity.
